Across the Zhongshan Bridge, White Pagoda Mountain (Baitashan) rises above the river. A short climb (or cable car) brings you to the White Pagoda Temple, a pagoda said to have been built in the Yuan dynasty to commemorate a Tibetan monk. The reward is Lanzhou's finest panorama: the Yellow River curving through the city, the bridge below, and the Gobi mountains beyond.
