A dietary request raised at dinner is a favour. Written into the brief before quoting, it becomes an instruction: it decides which restaurants are shortlisted, which vehicles are held, and which hotels get a specific question. What a Halal Confirmation Should Actually Say
"Halal-friendly" is not a specification. Ask which supplier category applies:
- A Muslim-owned restaurant, where the whole kitchen follows one standard.
- A certified halal kitchen inside a larger hotel, run separately.
- A general kitchen willing to prepare separate dishes.
Get the category in writing, plus whether the venue serves alcohol and who can confirm it. Prayer arrangements are a separate line: a quiet hotel room is routine, a venue space is not.
Which Cities Give You Room to Work
Supply follows settled communities and trade routes more than visitor numbers. The cities travellers usually raise — Xi'an, Yinchuan, Urumqi, Kunming, Guangzhou and Shenzhen — carry a deeper bench. The Two-Week Notice List
Most requests are solved in days. These are not: a dedicated halal kitchen in a smaller city, a private dining room rather than a mixed floor, an accessible vehicle with a ramp or lift, and a specific room type rather than a hotel that lists lifts. Accessibility: Booking Is Not the Same as Being Usable
A room marked accessible and a room that is usable are different outcomes. The gap sits in details: doorway width, bathroom turning space, lift access to your actual floor, and whether the vehicle can be boarded without steps. Attractions add variables: walking distances, staircases, shuttle buses that cannot take a folded chair. We do not certify kitchens and we do not issue dietary guarantees. We put your requirement in writing, return the supplier's written answer beside it, and say plainly when none is available. The same format governs agent files on our cooperation page.

Is halal food available everywhere in China?
Not everywhere. Availability follows where Muslim communities are settled, so larger cities and the northwest give more options than small towns. We confirm the restaurant before quoting, not assume from the city name.
How much notice do dietary and access requests need?
Most are solved within days, but allow two weeks where a dedicated kitchen, a private dining room, an accessible vehicle or a specific room type must be held. Earlier is better in smaller cities.
Do you guarantee that a kitchen is halal?
No. We do not certify kitchens. We put your requirement in writing, collect the supplier's written answer, and hand it to you before departure. Where no written answer exists, we say so.
