Launched in the spring of 1957, Chinese Export Commodities Fair, also referred to as Canton Fair is held twice a year in spring and autumn. It is the biggest trade fair in China, a fair organized on a grand scale, and of the biggest business return. Maintaining its tradition, the Fair is a complete and multi-purposeful event of global significance. Forty-six Trading Delegations, consisting of numerous of China's top foreign trade corporations or enterprises with excellent standing and reliable financial potential, participate in the Fair. The Fair is basically concerned with export trade, although import business is in addition dealt with in the Fair. In addition to these, different kinds of activities related to business for example economic as well as technical collaboration and relations, commodity assessment, insurance, transportation, advertising, consultation, etc. are furthermore conducted in flexible manners.
The uniqueness of the Canton Fair lies in the fact that thousands of exhibitors on behalf of Chinese international trade companies and manufacturers enhance the scale of the Fair. The goods that are displayed by them are of superior quality, reasonable priced and are frequently specialties from the different parts in China.
The present Fair is held in a complex which has in excess of five thousand 3-by-3-square-meter booths, all in conformity with international standards. At the fair there are a total of thirty four exhibition halls.
